FULL JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Safety First– follow processes provided / Be alert / Be focused / Be organized / Report any irregularities – nonconformities in equipment or personnel.
  • Receive and follow direction of daily schedule given by Extrusion Manager and Shift Supervisor.
  • Verify correct alloys are set up for each tool as per work order.
  • Verify-utilize – enter correct die recipes.
  • Verify and assist loading the applicable tooling into press as per work order.
  • Expedite tooling changes in an efficient and effective manner as per training.
  • Enter recipe information into press.
  • Spot check dimensions as per training / pre-post-saw-finished product.
  • Run and monitor the Extrusion press per provided recipe.
  • Contact Extrusion Supervisor for all concerns during production run.
  • Spot check stretch process as requested in recipe and print/tolerances.
  • Communicate with Head Stretch and Supervisor on potential changes.
  • Spot check saw process as per recipe and work order.
  • Communicate with Saw Operator and Supervisor on potential changes.
  • Utilize precision tools / calipers / Micrometers / Squares / Protractors / Applicable go-no-go gauges as per recipe and training.
  • Continually quantify that process is reaching expected recipe efficiencies / Contact supervisor if manipulation is necessary.
  • Enter information as to move work orders into position for processing.
  • Report to pre or postproduction meetings as required.
  • Full time – Salary Position

 FULL JOB DESCRIPTION: 

  • Safety First– follow processes provided / Be alert / Be focused / Be organized / Report any irregularities – nonconformities in equipment or personnel.
  • Lead by example with a full understanding on how to operate and manipulate Extrusion Equipment, i.e.: Oven- Press-Stretcher-Saw operations.
  • Must acquire or have a full understanding of extrusion process/tolerances/recovery/expectations/recipes.
  • Must have a full understanding on how to read prints and determine critical scenarios.
  • Must understand tolerances and how to utilize precision tools / calipers / micrometers / protractors / squares / comparators / Applicable go-no-go gauges as per recipe and training.
  • Must Lead and manage 7 employees in all aspects on 2-presses /1- 8-hour shift 5 days per week.
  • Review daily schedule and expectations with Extrusion Manager prior to each shift.
  • Communicate directly with Extrusion team on schedule and expectations.
  • Continuously monitor all positions – Press Operators/Head Stretchers/Saw operators/Quality Technicians.
  • Continuously monitor and quantify variances between recipes and actual efficiencies/correct negative variances.
  • Field all concerns- Mechanical/techniques/equations/tolerances/ from employees and offer immediate assistance in rectifying concerns.
  • Contact correction groups when assistance is needed – Maintenance/Die Shop/Quality Control.
  • Responsible for providing all shift production information post-shift as instructed for – Thru put /scrap/downtime/tooling correction/Maintenance concerns.
  • Responsible for 7 employees’ performance – disciplinary forms.
  • Review Shift performance and directly communicate with Extrusion Manager on daily/weekly/monthly / yearly performance vs expectations.
  • Continuously Review solutions with Extrusion Manager / coach / teach your team on necessary corrective actions needed to achieve positive results vs recipe/expectation.

Maintenance Tech

-Responsible to maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and improve the processes related to the mechanical, electrical, electronic, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment and the facilities of Iowa Aluminum. See Below.

-Responsible for safety and proper housekeeping of the area the maintenance tech is performing maintenance/repairs and the maintenance area.

Electrical

-Able to interpret simple wire diagrams and drawings related to electrical systems

-Ability to test, check, troubleshoot, and repair faulty electrical components

-Ability to change motors, solenoids, and other electrical equipment

-Able to work with 480V power and their distribution systems

-Good understanding of wire diagrams and drawings related to electrical systems and motors

-Good knowledge of electrical theory, codes, material properties and electrical equipment operating principals

-Working knowledge of PLC systems

-Knowledge of transducers, thermocouples and other sensors

Mechanical – hydraulic

-Understanding of mechanical DESIGN, ASSEMBLY drawings and hydraulic drawings

-Ability to test, check, troubleshoot, and repair faulty mechanical and hydraulic components

-Ability to change pumps, motors, piping, drive components, furnace parts and other equipment

-Good understanding of mechanical design, HYDRAULIC AND assembly drawings

-Good knowledge of theory, material properties and principals of operation of mechanical and HYDRAULIC EQUIPMENT

-Able to repair departmental gas fired equipment

Welding

-Ability to weld, cut, and fabricate parts and assemblies using welding shop tools and equipment

-Knowledge of theory, material properties and principals of operation of mechanical equipment

-Good knowledge of theory, material properties and principals of operation of mechanical equipment

Packer: Full-Time

-Responsible for Packing Aluminum Extrusions per customer and or company requirements.

-Secure Bundles of finished material and ready for shipment.

-Provide assistance in various responsibilities.

-Monitor equipment performance and if needed, provide for maintenance repairs.

-Responsible for safety and proper housekeeping of the shipping and packing area.
