At Iowa Aluminum, we work hard to meet our clients’ needs. That’s why we offer custom aluminum fabrication for the automotive, commercial, sporting goods, and industrial sectors, and adhere to a wide range of industry standards. Working with 6000 series aluminum, we offer several fabrication methods, including:
Whether you have quality problems, delivery problems, an order no one wants to extrude, or an order that you wish to have delivered in a short period of time, Iowa Aluminum can meet or exceed your special requirements.
Since we have access to our own Die Shop, L&S Tool, Inc., we can produce dies at a lower cost and samples sooner than most aluminum extruders can imagine.
We extrude to Aluminum Association and ASTM Standards, however, requesting less than standard is always a negotiable factor.
With products ranging from automotive components to office furniture, we use only state-of the art equipment to enable us to accommodate a range of thicknesses, lengths, widths, and weight. We hold a +/- .005 cutting tolerance and a +/- .015 machining tolerance, and are happy to offer anodizing, painting, and powder coating as secondary services. For more information on how to get started, contact Iowa Aluminum.

Press-1: 1250-Ton Extrusion Press – is primarily used for thin wall shapes down to .040″ and small production orders down to 350 pounds that most extruders shy away from. However, when required, heavier wall shapes and larger production orders are produced, which provides Iowa Aluminum the diversity needed to meet customer demands.Press-1: 1250-Ton Extrusion Press – is primarily used for thin wall shapes down to .040″ and small production orders down to 350 pounds that most extruders shy away from. However, when required, heavier wall shapes and larger production orders are produced, which provides Iowa Aluminum the diversity needed to meet customer demands.Press-2: 1450-Ton Extrusion Press – is primarily used for larger wall shapes and production orders that allow Iowa Aluminum to become much more diversified in meeting customer requirements and enhancing their extrusion capabilities. Adequate quenching from air fans and water provide the ability to meet mechanical properties of 6061 and 6005 alloys.Heat Treat Oven-One accommodates extrusions primarily from Press-1, however, depending on alloy and temper requirements, it will accommodate extrusions from both presses to meet customer requirements.Heat Treat Oven-Two accommodates extrusions primarily from Press-2, however, depending on alloy and temper requirements, it will accommodate extrusions from both presses to meet customer requirements.Automatic Billet Saw and Gas Billet Heater – The Automatic Billet Saw automatically cuts billets mostly for Press-2 from 27″ lengths down to 10″ lengths, but it can also cut billets for Press-1 at 17 ” and 16″ lengths when needed. Press-1 utilizes billet sizes from 17″ down to 13″ lengths and billet sizes lower than 16″ lengths are cut on our Billet Band Saw. The Automatic Billet Saw will cut billets for Press-2 and load them onto a conveyor to the Gas Billet Heater. The billets can be precut by the Press Operator from the Press Controls, according to the work order requirement allowing the Press Operator to schedule the size of billet without leaving the controls to perform the task. |
